After brief saunters into the worlds of Animation and Fine Art, Damien graduated from Dun Laoghaire with an Honours Degree in Film specialising in Editing in 2001. Snapped up by the Piranha Bar Talent Scouts at his Graduate Show, he turned up to his new job two weeks later, ready for his Avid. A few years on, when all the tea was made, tapes were digitised and piranhas were dead, he cut his first broadcast show, the TG4 cult classic ‘Posadh Sli Eile’. Turning his back on his Irish Language Art House roots, he went all commercial in recent years with big budget award winning spectaculars such as The Apprentice and Celebrity Banisteoir. Damien was recently named ‘ Best Editor’ at Ireland’s first Music Video Festival (BMVF) for Sickboy’s ‘Taken Away In A Car’. During his 8 years at Piranha Bar he has worked across a vast array of broadcast and commercial projects and he still makes a great cup of tea.
